We are starting a review section of the site because we wanted to share our experience with travel, products, and services. Our first Marital Minutes Review is of the Nickelodeon Suites Resort in Orlando, Florida. We will be rating each category on a scale of 1 to 4 hearts with 1 heart being poor and 4 being exceptional.
We evaluated the resorts based on the following categories: Price, Handicap Accessibility, Hospitality, Room and Cleanliness, Activities, Kids Experience, and Overall Experience.
Price:
The cost was over $200 per night once you added the resort fee. We also found the resort dining to be rather expensive. The Character Breakfast for example was $33 for adults and $14 for kids. The selection was not that great and you are definitely paying for the access to the characters. One unique “service” offered at the resort is the opportunity to be slimed by the pool side; however, if you wanted your child to have the individual slimming experience it was quite pricey ($44)!
Handicap Accessibility:
The resort fulfilled all standard ADA compliance requirements, but we did not give it the full 4 stars because handicap parking was in short supply.
Hospitality:
We found the staff to be both helpful and friendly. They do an excellent job of bringing the world of Nickelodeon to life. I ask the front desk staff several questions over the course of our stay and they were always pleasant and helpful. I held the 4th heart because we asked for an extra blanket and it took them almost an hour to bring it to the room and it did require two calls.
Room and Cleanliness:
We found the room to be clean and the resort looked well cared for. The room could use some updating for example the TV in the kids room was an old tube television. One of my boys complained that the bunk bed was very uncomfortable but we found the queen bed in the second room pretty comfortable. We noticed that they closed the pool twice for a “Healthy Pool Break.” We asked a life guard and found out that this meant the pool was closed because someone had an accident (in our case once because someone vomited in the pool and the second time the pool was closed after we personally witnessed a child make a number 2). The staff was quick to remove the guests from the pool and clean the affected areas.
Kids Experience:
Our boys absolutely loved it! They loved the pool and water slides. They loved our Jimmy Newtron themed room, access to characters, and other activities.
Overall Experience:
The resort is a blast for kids and lives up to hype. From the mass pool side slimming, water slides, and character experience this is a great resort for kids. If your traveling without children stay away! We didn’t give it the full 4 hearts because it was a bit expensive, the rooms could use updating, and the “Healthy Pool Breaks” where a bit of a turn off.
We have included photos and videos from our stay.
